I’ve been working on some Flash elements for the company website, which we’re redoing. I love trying to do stuff in Flash because I’m visual and it’s more like playing than the work I do in HTML and CSS, etc. I also love working in Flash because I always have to learn how to do something new. Here is a simple animated navigation I’m working on right now. I didn’t design the buttons, just the behaviors and how they animate. In other words, I don’t like the button icons.

The result is going to be somewhat aliased and cropped since I had to resize it to fit the blog. Here are a couple Flash tutorials from Tinkertech that were absolutely indispensable:

    1. Resizing movies in Flash MX 2004. Herein I learned to save a scene as a movie clip. I wish I had known this a year ago.
    2. Cleaning Up a Flash Library to Reduce File Size. Another Doh! I always have a problem with huge libraries full of symbols and graphics I never used.

Special thanks to Kimili Flash Embed plugin for WordPress

Is the clickety clack sound too loud?

Ah, I was wondering what the hell was making that noise.. If they’re to be a main attraction on the site, then the loudness makes sense to me. If not…
