US Government agitprop blowhorn

The Voice of America is really disgraceful. The propaganda is so thinly concealed in their unsigned ‘editorials’ which are probably written by entire committees of psyops personnel. For example, in an ‘editorial’, 12/19/02 – STUDENT DEMONSTRATIONS IN IRAN – Editorial #0-10321:

The protests reflect the growing impatience of the people of Iran. They want genuine democracy, not a regime manipulated by reactionary clerics. Hard-line Islamists are a minority in Iran’s parliament. But they control the police, the judiciary, and the Guardian Council. And no act of parliament can become law without the council’s approval.

Or, maybe the growing impatience of the US government? And, the choice of words: reactionary, genuine democracy (Iran is at least now a Republic in name. This is doubly ironic since the US supported the prior authoritarian government under the Shah)

Results of recent elections demonstrated that the people of Iran want political reform and an end to repression. A poll found that nearly seventy-five percent of Iranians favored dialogue with the United States.

What poll? Who funded it?

The demand for political reform is not only being made in the streets, but in the parliament as well. Rajabali Mazrouei [rah-jah-bah-lee mahz-roo-ee], leader of the Islamic Iran Participation Front, told fellow members of parliament: “If you believe people support you, then let’s hold a referendum and allow people to determine [their] fate.”

Sure, everyone knows elections are never manipulated or gamed. It happened here, it can certainly happen in Iran. I’m sure the Iranian government is pretty undemocratic. That’s one of the problems with mixing church and state. Religious authority is used for political purposes. That’s just another reason why we should not be funding so-called faith-based initiatives.

The U.S. stands with the people of Iran in their quest for freedom, civil liberties, prosperity, judicial due process, and the rule of law. Iranian officials are fully aware that these calls are genuine and come directly from the hearts of their own citizens. The U.S. looks to the Iranian government to be accountable to its people and respect their aspirations for freedom.

A tad hypocritical in a time where our own government has abrogated many such ‘civil liberties’, freedoms explicitly mentioned in the Declaration of Independence and in the Constitution.

Al Quaeda = anyone who opposes the US?

I saw this article today about an American soldier being killed in Afghanistan.

BAGRAM, Afghanistan — An American soldier died of gunshot wounds after suspected al Qaeda militants fired on a patrol unit in eastern Afghanistan in the early hours of Saturday morning, the U.S. military said.

Ok, what exactly makes an Al Quaeda militant? I’m really frustrated that more actual information isn’t given in the news. Has Al Quaeda just become this umbrella name for any Muslim or Arab who opposes the American government? Americans who send money to Islamic charities who oppose Israel are considered Al Quaeda. Afghans who want independence from the US are labeled Al Quaeda. Do we know for a fact that Al Quaeda even exists? If so, how do we know? The word itself means simply, “the base” or “the foundation” which is insanely vague. How can we trust what we’re being told? The truth is we cannot. The only thing we can know for certain is that the World Trade Center collapsed after two planes flew into it. Everything else is smoke and fog.

The Ten Major Principles of the Gnostic Revelation

I went and hung out with someone I had been talking to on aim for a while. I’m sure I sounded strange when I brought up the subject of Gnosticism.

The Ten Major Principles of the Gnostic Revelation
From Exegesis, by Philip K. Dick

The Gnostic Christians of the second century believed that only a special revelation of knowledge rather than faith could save a person. The contents of this revelation could not be received empirically or derived a priori. They considered this special gnosis so valuable that it must be kept
secret. Here are the ten major principles of the gnostic revelation:

  1. The creator of this world is demented.
  2. The world is not as it appears, in order to hide the evil in it, a delusive veil obscuring it and the deranged deity.
  3. There is another, better realm of God, and all our efforts are to be directed toward
    1. returning there
    2. bringing it here
  4. Our actual lives stretch thousands of years back, and we can be made to remember our origin in the stars.
  5. Each of us has a divine counterpart unfallen who can reach a hand down to us to awaken us. This other personality is the authentic waking self; the one we have now is asleep and minor. We are in fact asleep, and in the hands of a dangerous magician disguised as a good god, the deranged creator deity. The bleakness, the evil and pain in this world, the fact that it is a deterministic prison controlled by the demented creator causes us willingly to split with the reality principle early in life, and so to speak willingly fall asleep in delusion.
  6. You can pass from the delusional prison world into the peaceful kingdom if the True Good God places you under His grace and allows you to see reality through His eyes.
  7. Christ gave, rather than received, revelation; he taught his followers how to enter the kingdom while still alive, where other mystery religions only bring about
amnesis: knowledge of it at the “other time” in “the other realm,” not here. He causes it to come here, and is the living agency to the Sole Good God (i.e. the Logos).

  8. Probably the real, secret Christian church still exists, long underground, with the living Corpus Christi as its head or ruler, the members absorbed into it. Through participation in it they probably have vast, seemingly magical powers.
  9. The division into “two times” (good and evil) and “two realms” (good and evil) will abruptly end with victory for the good time here, as the presently invisible kingdom separates and becomes visible. We cannot know the date.
  10. During this time period we are on the sifting bridge being judged according to which power we give allegiance to, the deranged creator demiurge of this world or the One Good God and his kingdom, whom we know through Christ.

To know these ten principles of Gnostic Christianity is to court disaster.

The Death of the Father

Death of the Father: An Anthropology of Ends in Political Authority:

Mussolini, Hitler, Hirohito, Ceausescu, Stalin, and Tito. How did they die? Why is it important?

Of what significance is the symbolization of the Father and his dead body for the form of national authority that follows the collapse of a regime? Of what importance is the mode of death, treatment of the corpse, and the nature of mourning in bringing closure?

An international team of anthropologists and artists, pose these questions as they address the end of an authority crisis that spanned most of this century, and that crystallized around the regimes of Fascist Italy, Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, and the State Socialist systems of East Germany, Yugoslavia, Romania, and the Soviet Union.

The father is the first authority figure. The idea of the father, of authority, is replicated throughout every level of society. With the creation of monotheistic religions by the elite unlimited power and authority became personified by the ‘father’ in the sky. The master of the universe, inscrutable, unassailable, beyond human comprehension. Authority becomes an idea beyond human, beyond comprehension. Temporally, authority is represented in the guise of the president, the king, the leader, the fuhrer. In your life it is represented by the police officer, the boss. We are subjected to coercion from our youngest years. This constant submission to authority prepares us for our lives as slaves. A good book on this is “The Mass Psychology of Fascism“.

Incredible Flaming Mechanism

From the spring of 1994 to the spring of 1995 two of my good friends and I put together a little zine/comic/magazine which we would try to sell at record stores and through the mail. The only real reason we charged was to keep people from running off with a whole stack of them if they were free. I think we sold them for around fifty cents. It was a fun experience. I finally started scanning some of them in. Here’s the first one I grabbed, Incredible Flaming Mechanism #6.

I should mention that at the time we all used pseudonyms, so anything done by Jasper Albeeny is actually my work. Or rather, we are one and the same.

Tsk tsk

Iraq claims U.S. tampered with report: Although in Qatar during a news conference, Rumsfeld said the US got the report first because the UN wanted them to duplicate it. Does the UN not have xerox machines? Yea, I’m not buying this.
