The Hammer

The hammer dropping on Afghanistan as part of some larger geopolitical extraregional battle for the heartland of eurasia and all its resources? Major interests in the United States could stand to benefit from an American interference in that region. Consider the planned Caspian pipeline. It is a little strange that coverage of the Taliban has eclipsed many other international issues. The destruction of ancient buddhist statues, the Christian missionaries, and now Osama bin Laden. Was it all part of some preparation from what will surely take place? An American move predicated on a ‘war against terror’ legitimized by an international ‘coalition’? Likely thousands more innocents will die as the American goverment loads up the war machine. Be prepared for a domestic lockdown. I read on some guy’s website today:

    1. Best Buy is removing copies of the Die Hard series of movies from their stores because the first one featured terrorists blowing up a skyscraper, the second featured terrorists hijacking and crashing airliners, and the third had the subway under the World Trade Center exploding.

    2. FOX has permanently pulled the Simpsons episode ‘The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson’ from syndication because a snippet includes the WTC.

    3. Retailers are taking copies of the computer game Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 off the shelves because the game includes a NYC battle scene and fighting over various landmarks; and future copies of the popular computer game Metal Gear Solid 2 are reportedly being modified to take out references to NYC and the WTC.

Undoubtedly, the oil business is involved somewhere. American business interests are itching to get their noses wet in that area. By the way, you can thank your government for spending wads of dough to train terrorists who would later (assuming we can believe anything in the media) mastermind the WTC disaster.
I find it hard to believe that the US is so doggedly in pursuit of bin Laden when other groups have taken reponsibilty for the attack and the Taliban and bin Laden deny having anything to do with it. What’s the problem with getting the story out?
